I AM BRINGING THIS BLOG BACK

I am considering reviving DEATH METAL POETRY as a chapbook press. Thoughts? No one comes here anymore. That is my fault. South Bend does not get hot in the summer. I am not pleased by this.

I am presenting on a panel at AWP Denver (with MFA-mate Sami Schalk and a host of other fine folks). We will be discussing writing workshops in correctional facilities and shelters. It will be exciting to meet people at AWP in a capacity that is not limited to my stumbling into them in the book fair mass orgy. Don't worry. I will still stumble 97% of the time.

i still exist

this blog is for losers.

i live in indiana. sparksy weighs almost 18 pounds. i am finishing super long prose-poem hybrid text work with ian davisson. sweet tea vodka tastes like sweet tea. i work in a mail room. blake butler is continually balling out of control and is nominating some prose poems of mine for pushcart. ian, too. allison is doing well at UChicago. my head hurts. mini-fridge with green tea ginger ale. i am writing long collaborative poem with daniel citro here at notre dame. snow, there has been snow. i am writing series of poems in epistolary fashion to allison. i want to write other sequence as well. i am writing a paper close reading a poem by gerard manley hopkins. the nba and nhl are on but no one really cares. goodbye.

potential titles of long poems or sequences

I drank several beers before my last creative writing workshop. I think this enhanced my perception somehow. Should I be worried about that? Here is a list of titles I gathered from that workshop. I have co-opted them all. I have challenged the sense of ownership that might have existed in their various creators. Hmmm. I like all of these titles for various reasons. I will not expand that last statement. I am tired. The Titles are:

a perfect telephone conversation between two upstanding citizens (presumably a collaborative work--although I use the term loosely)

or

trace all the horses you need

or

it was in my head, but not in my face

or

worry about the crayolas
